OOC seeks GRANTS MANAGER

Our mission is to organize everyday Ohioans, building grassroots power for racial, social, and economic justice in our state.

As the Grants Manager, you will play a crucial role in securing the funding necessary to drive this mission forward.

Required Skills & Abilities

The Grants Manager is a detail-oriented, organized professional with experience writing and managing grant proposals. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working with diverse grant-making organizations, private foundations, and national partners, and is skilled at managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.

The Grants Manager works closely with senior leadership, the finance department, and the communications team to ensure the successful management of all grant-related activities, including application, submission, and reporting processes. Strong computer and data management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Management:

  • Organize, oversee, and manage the writing, submission, and reporting for all OOC grants.

  • Develop and maintain an annual grants calendar to ensure timely application submissions and follow-up reporting.

Financial Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the finance department and leadership to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting for all grants.

  • Monitor the status of current and future grants, providing reports as needed.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the communications team and OOC organizers to report on organizational accomplishments, upcoming projects, and overall goals.

  • Ensure grant proposals align with OOC's mission and priorities.

Research and Fundraising:

  • Identify potential grant opportunities that align with OOC's mission, and craft proposals that clearly communicate OOC’s work and goals.

  • Coordinate grant requests across the organization to support broader fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience writing grant proposals and managing relationships with charitable foundations and donors, with a strong understanding of 501c3 compliance requirements.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive. Experience with data entry and retrieval from grant databases.

  • Writing Ability: Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling proposals.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-racial, multi-faith, intergenerational team.

  • Judgment & Confidentiality: Strong decision-making, confidentiality, and organizational skills.

Position Details

This is a part-time, contract position, billed hourly, with a flexible schedule. The Grants Manager is not expected to exceed 20 hours per month, with occasional evening and weekend work required to meet deadlines. The position is remote, though regular virtual meetings are expected.
