Part-Time Organizer, Care Economy Organizing Project

I am a proud owner of Safe Haven Family Childcare, going on eleven years. I am dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children. As well as, committed to supporting families in need and I am very passionate about connecting resources within her community.

I have an Associate's degree in Human Resource Management from Rhodes State College (2013) and a Child Development Associate credential earned in 2017, I combined my education with real-world experience to impact the lives of children and families positively. In recognition of my exceptional dedication, I was awarded the Provider of the Year in Allen County in 2020.

In 2022, I was honored to serve as a member of the study committee on the publicly funded child care system and the Step Up to Quality program, sponsored by House Representative Andrea White and State Senator Jerry Cirino. Additionally, I completed the Approved Birthing Doula Training through the International Childbirth Education Association in the same year. As a doula, I have supported the births of four healthy, beautiful babies. I believe that empowering mothers with the knowledge, support, and helping them to recall their strength from their foremothers, and providing the truth of natural birthing will give them power to declare their birthing experiences.

Outside my professional commitments, I am a strong and happy wife and a mother of eight. I enjoy spending quality time with her family and I actively participate in my church community, where I enjoy greeting congregants. I am an avid painter. I enjoy capturing peace in my paintings. When time is on my side I love to write. I express my creativity through stories and poems as well as I sing.  As a naturalist, I've embraced the belief that everyone is endowed with unique abilities by God and finds joy in teaching others about the wonders of nature.

I organize with The Care Economy Organizing Project. I am driven by my belief that we can all come together collectively and make positive changes for our families in every community in Ohio. Through my work, I aim to build a stronger, more supportive community for Early Childhood Educators, where our programs are equitably sustainable,  empowering others with the knowledge of the true cost of quality care, and opening doors for more healthier families in Ohio!
