Mélodie Agnew

Parent Organizer, OOC

Mélodie believes that people are a community’s most important asset. Building relationships and listening to community voices are essential to true partnership. At the OOC, Mélodie is primarily responsible for building a grassroots base of parents working to improve public education in Ohio. Her work is a part of the All in for Ohio Kids coalition, which aims to fully and fairly fund Ohio’s public schools so that every kid can get a great education no matter their race or income. 

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Mélodie is a community development professional with over 19 years of nonprofit experience. She is an alumna of Spelman College. 

Mélodie has previously worked in pharmacy network and provider management, training and implementation, and fundraising management for campaigns. After returning to Birmingham, she worked in program and volunteer management in the nonprofit sector before serving as an executive director of a grassroots community organization for over 11 years. 

Melodie is excited to be a new resident of Columbus.  She lives there with her husband Ronnie.
