Katelyn Jackson, Columbus

Parent Organizer, All In For Ohio Kids Coalition

Katelyn is a parent organizer working with parents as part of our All in for Ohio Kids campaign to fight for a fully-funded education system that puts families at the center.

Katelyn has years of experience working in the community and believes in the power of using our voices collectively to change unjust policy while building our beloved community that benefits all of us. After graduating from Miami University, Katelyn started as an Americorps VISTA working in affordable housing advocacy. She has six years of experience in building community through neighborhood community development corporations and a total of ten years working in the non-profit/public sector. Katelyn previously worked at the OOC on Issue One and is excited to be back with the people, organizing for issues she believes in. Having co-led civic groups, gardening collectives, safety campaigns, and voter registration drives, Katelyn has a deep love of organizing to create the communities that we want to see.

She received a community leadership award in 2017 for her community work engaging landlords and tenants in eviction prevention strategies and leading voter advocacy efforts on the westside of Columbus.

Although born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Katelyn has a love for all of Ohio from the River to the Lake and everything in between. With parents from Hamilton, Ohio, she especially has a soft spot for Cincinnati chili spaghetti.
